'No Moon' is the new dreamy, contemplative single from prolific Ohio singer-songwriter/guitarist, Zack Fletcher. It follows 'The Traveler' as the second in a new collection called Ohio Reveries; songs inspired by his home and the places it has taken him. Each of the five new songs are being released as singles over the latter half of 2021 with the full collection and alternate versions to follow.
'No Moon' explores themes of youth and loss of innocence. This recorded version features a dreaminess in the instrumentation reflecting the haze of the past; those sometimes difficult realizations and experiences that are too easy to become lost in. The song's resolution reminds us to focus on the beacons in the dark... the axioms, truths, and people that can help lead us through those nights with no moon.
lyrics
So you discovered where to find me
Wading amidst these damaged promises and dreams
Oh tonight there'll be no moon
Slow movement to claim every moment
Of days lost and never to return
Eyes wide to pierce this night with no moon
Go now that you've found me out
By paying witness to the darkness of our youth
Silent days ahead will ask to stray or to follow
But where you go so will I
This night with no moon
