This live in-studio cut of 'Little Hollow' was recorded at the Ryman Auditorium's Air Castle Studio. During my Nashville stop for the Ohio Reveries tour, we took a tour of the famous Ryman Auditorium; an important piece of Nashville's history and music history. I had no idea that a little recording booth sat in the back of the lower bowl. Apparently it's sometimes used for broadcasts, but during guest tours you can sign up to sing a song to classic country cuts pre-recorded by the Grand Ole Opry house band. Or, you can play an original tune. I went back and forth on whether I wanted to try to record one and as fate would have it the very last slot for the day was available. 'Little Hollow' was written right as the tour was beginning and I had ideas to make it my next single. Not only was I looking out to see the famous Ryman stage where hundreds of incredible performances have taken place, but I could see my wife, while I performed the song dedicated to our little boy on the way who we would meet in just a short couple months. The live, single-take nature gives it a much more raw feel than the studio cut. But I decided it was worth sharing for the memory, and hopefully some of that Ryman magic crept in the soundwaves for the recording to be enjoyed in its own unique way.
